How to save your own eggs for the future

Not all women under 30 already have children. Each person will have their own reason, but this leads many women to think about saving their own eggs for IVF in the future.

Age affects the quality of eggs, and the method of stimulation also depends on age. The older the woman, the more gentle the preparation for puncture and the fewer eggs can be obtained. Suppose a woman 30–35 years old can have 12 eggs, which will become 8 embryos. Of these, about 4 may be of good quality. This is 4 transfer attempts. Each transfer will result in pregnancy 60%–75% of the time. The data here is a guideline, but it is important to understand that more quality eggs increases the likelihood of pregnancy.

How do you prepare for egg donation

On the 2nd day of the cycle, a follicular scan is done . This is an ultrasound, during which a reproductive specialist measures the volume of the ovaries and the number of follicles in them. The number of visible follicles indicates how many eggs will be produced. A minimum of 6 visible follicles is considered sufficient.

Also on the 2nd day of the cycle, you need to take a blood test for hormone levels (LH, FSH, estradiol, AMH) and general fertility. If the FSH level on the 2nd day of the cycle is more than 10, and the AMH level is less than 1.0, then, unfortunately, reproductive specialists will not be able to recommend that you save your eggs.

If the test results meet the requirements, then the next step will be to determine the date of the puncture procedure and subsequent cultivation of the embryos.

After this, the stimulation protocol begins to obtain the maximum possible number of viable eggs.

We will describe some vitamins and supplements that will help increase fertility. For the exact composition and dosage of the required substances and their dosage, please consult your doctor.

Vitamins to increase fertility

Folic acid, or vitamin B9, is important in all aspects of pregnancy, starting from the moment of conception. It affects:

- regulation of ovarian function, implantation and embryo development.

- creation of healthy cells - it is important that the cells quickly increase in size and quantity during the maturation of the egg before ovulation

- increasing the level of the hormone AMH - it gives a higher chance of pregnancy using IVF.

- increasing the number of extracted eggs and increased estrogen levels.

Estrogen

Estrogen is a group of female hormones. With age, their level decreases, the quality of eggs decreases, and this affects the ability to become pregnant. Taking the drugs for 6-20 weeks has a positive effect on the body.

Q10

The antioxidant coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is found in most living organisms and is used by cells to process energy. CoQ10 decreases with age, so some fertility doctors suggest patients take it. It is believed that CoQ10 may help protect the DNA of eggs from damage, as well as improve energy metabolism necessary for normal cell division.

Zinc

Zinc is also one of minerals that help regulate hormone levels. Zinc plays an important role in reproductive health, including egg production.

Selenium

Selenium is a mineral that protects the reproductive system from damage by free radicals. It may promote healthy cell division and the development of healthy ovarian follicles, which are responsible for egg production.

Omega-3

Omega-3 fatty acids help regulate hormone levels, thus helping to maintain fertility. They also help increase the cervical mucosa, stimulate ovulation and blood flow to the reproductive organs. They also reduce inflammation and can help normalize your menstrual cycle.

Our emotional state has been shown to impact our physical health. Therefore, it is important to be in psychological comfort, to be calm and joyful.
